Deploying C and Java applications directly on Xen, with OSv

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Much computer science research has focused on the dream of running an application directly on the Xen
hypervisor, without the overhead and admin hassle of the guest OS layer.  But until now, the "library OS"
concept has been limited to a few language runtimes. With OSv, a simple, single-address-space guest OS
layer, it's now possible to take commodity C, C++, and Java applications from source code to running VM in one step, with minimal OS configuration .

This talk will include a step-by-step walk-through of the complete process of converting an ordinary application into a stand-alone, first-class virtual machine ready to run on Xen.
